Two Blue Jay Bowlers Named to All-District Team

Congratulations to both senior Cory Ledet and junior Andrew Prejean on being named to the All-District Bowling Team.

In bi-regional playoff action April 4-5, Jesuit defeated St. Michaelís before falling to Rummel in the quarterfinals. Cory Ledet bowled 206, 248, 230 for a 684 series. His 228 average placed him as the No. 1 seed in the boys singles division. Cory will defend his boys state singles championship title on April 12 in Lafayette.

Blue Jays Keep Rolling With a Big Win Over Second-Seeded Holy Cross in Regional Playoff Match
 

Bowling Team Advances to Bi-Regional Round in Baton Rouge on April 4


Senior Cory Ledet posted a 644 series against Shaw and a 757 series
against Holy Cross in regional play on March 25-26.

Jesuit bowlers won their two regional matchups on March 25-26, defeating Shaw and Holy Cross at All-Star Lanes in Kenner. In Monday's first round, the Blue Jays defeated the Eagles 23-4. Tuesday, they knocked off the Tigers 18-9. With the victories, Jesuit clinches a spot in the bi-regional playoffs in Baton Rouge on Thursday, April 4.

In the Monday match against Shaw, team lead scorers included senior Cory Ledet with a 644 total series and senior Mike Duran with a 600 total series. Other notable high scorers were junior Chris Totaro with 203 and junior Andrew Prejean with 203 and 227.

On Tuesday, Blue Jays posted impressive high scores against second-seeded Holy Cross for the team win. Jesuitís lead scorers were Cory Ledet with a 252, 238, 267 (757) series and Andrew Prejean with a 242, 201, 236 (679) series. Also posting notable scores were Chris Totaro with 209 and 201, and sophomore Ben Ainsworth with 241.

Team Ends Regular Season with 8-3 Record and 3rd Place in Division I

The 2013 Jesuit bowling team ended its regular season 8-3 and is ready for the regional
playoffs that begin Monday and Tuesday (March 25-26) at All Star Lanes in Kenner.

Strong Bowling Scores Fall Short of Another Win for Blue Jay Team

Since its season opening win over Brother Martin, the Jesuit bowling team has struggled to come up with another win against Rummel (14-13) on February 18 and in a second contest with Brother Martin (22-5) on February 25.

In the Rummel matchup, Jesuit was ahead in the first and second games, but lost the third game to Rummelís rally. Senior Cory Ledet led the Jays with a 158, 278, 279 series. Other notable scores include: junior Chris Totaro, 222; senior Mike Duran, 220; sophomore Chris Ainsworth, 201; and junior Andrew Prejean, 227, 209.

Facing Brother Martin for the second time this season, Blue Jays bowled a strong game but was unable to get ahead. Team lead scorers include junior Andrew Prejean, who only won one of his three games, but still posted an impressive 246, 194, 221 score. Cory Ledet came away with one win and a 206, 161, 247 series.

In its season opener, the Jesuit bowling team beat Brother Martin by a score of 16-11. Sophomore Chris Ainsworth led the team with a 244, 245, and 191 for a 680 series. Other notable games included senior Cory Ledet with 234 and 206, junior Andrew Prejean with 215 and 202, and senior Mike Duran with 200.
